I will be purchasing 20" TSW Thruxtons tom. I first of all wanted to know if there were people that had these rims on their cars that could post some pics and then I wanted to know if putting 20" rims on my 06 G35 with the sport suspension would do damage to either the suspension or tranny or anything for that matter. Please post pics and reply as soon as possible since i will be buying the rims tom. Thank You very much.

I have 20s and ride is good but of course you loose some ride quality. Side note: if you want to do any suspension work 20's would be to big, IMO!

I got 20" HRE's not a problem at all. It actually loooks alot better.
Also go with 8.5" front and 10.5" rear.

The TSW's I'm getting are 8.5 in the front and 10 I think in the back.

Get the 20s. I was worried about all the same things you are, but decided to go with them anyway. Soooooo glad I did. Don't regret it at all . . . and no problems either.

 

I just got the 20" Thruxtons from a site called DiscountWheelWarehouse.com and I had all the same concerns. Ive looked throughout this site and others and its seems like there should be no problem.

Maybe, according to an article I read last year on wheel size. When you going overly large in beyond the OEM size the pressure on your suspension part is significantly increased as your tires serve as part of your shock absorber. When you're running ultra thin rubbers you take out the tires as part of your shock absorbing crew and leave everything to your shocks and spring. On most cases you'll just exhausted your Shocks and Springs faster, but on extreme case a broken shock tower or arms. Seems very logical to me but I'm a plus 2 person so its doesn't really concern me. I think its more for those SUV people who going from 15" to 22".

 

I just switched this weekend to 20's from stock 19's and you can barely tell the difference

 

I have 20" TSW Thruxtons. Pics are in my signature, and the Feb Car of the Month in the gallery section. I have had no issues other than the fact that I lowered the car and had to upgrade suspension to correct camber. I think it handles great.

 

if you get 20's it would be a good idea to get a camber/toe kit. when you put bigger wheels on your specs are obviously going to be off. i do not see the ride as being worse. if you get the right tires you can make the ride better. i change back to my stock 18's all the time and i feel a smoother ride and better steering when i put the 20's on. i would not recommend anything more than 20's. the best setup for our G coupe is 20X8.5 in the front and 20X10 in the rear.
