How wide of a Tire to go with 18x10?

I was thinking 275's or 295's for the width. I want to make the sidewalls look flat like stock, not too curved in making the tire tread seem smaller than the wheel. What do you guys think?

275 max. anymore and you wouldn't want to corner as you please due to sidewall flexing. personally, i'd go with a 265/35.

Hmm..the stock wheels are 18x8 and they use 245/35 in the rear. So, adding 2 inches only equates to 20mm of width? I thought you had to add to the width accordingly, since 25mm ~ 1 inch.

What about 295/30/19 on a 10.5" wheel?

295's is prone to rubbing against your inner fender because of how wide they are. I would stay at 275 even on a 10.5 rim.

it can be done, but it wouldn't be worth the fender modifying, and the s.hitty handling due to flexing.

I forgot to mention, I will be using 25mm hub-centric spacers in the rear.

I have 10s in the back and am running 275 tires. For me, they are too stretched. For the tires to come out flush with the wheels, I think I am going to try 285s next.

Another Question: The thicker the wheel the better? Or do you want less sidewall as possible? I was thinking of going with 285/45 R18 Michelin PS2's for 18's. Is 45 too thick?

I have 275/35/19's on my rear 19x10.5.

I was going to get 285/35 or even 275/40 but I was advised against it by several racers.

a 45 series tire is too thick for a 285 width or even a 275 width. I'd stick with a 285.40.18 at the MAX.

What was the reasoning? Because of sidewall flex? Could you post a pic of your rear wheels? Thanks.

Ya, after thinking about it 45 seems too thick, and the fact that no one pretty much makes one. I was thinking of 285/40 R18 101Y BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2. About $230 at tirerack.
