Base coupe tire options

There's not many tire options for the base coupe with 17's (225-50-17 front, 235-50-17 rear).
What are people using to replace the horrible OEM Potenza RE92's?

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. They are available in the exact sizes you need and are awesome tires. Check with Tire Rack.

Thanks. Any all-season recommendations for NJ winters?
Can I change to a slightly different tire size on the 17" wheels?

I'm in the market for these tires. Looked through Tire Rack and even emailed one of their reps for OEM 18" '04 sizes: 225/45/18 Front and 245/45/18 Rear. I was told that they and or Goodyear did not carry the F1 GS-D3 in those sizes. I checked the Goodyear website to confirm and it is true.

G owners out there!!! Anyone with F1 GS-D3s, can you tell me what sizes you are using and where you got them?

Thanks!

Can I run 235-45-17 front & 245-45-17 rear (instead of OEM 225-50-17 front, 235-50-17 rear) without any issues? The diameters will be about a 1/2 inch shorter.
These sizes seem to offer a much wider selection of tire choices.

You should be fine with the sizes you want to run. They fall within the 3% rule. The good thing is that your speedo will be displaying a speed faster than you're actually going, which might help you to avoid speeding tickets. The car will also accelerate marginally faster since the new tires are smaller in diameter than stock. Plus, the dealer can probably re-calibrate the speedo if you wanted.
