Picking up my new '06 LP Prem 6MT next week and as usual the dealer is pitching all their high margin aftermarket offers - Lojack, Autobahn Clear Bra, Tire & Wheel warranty, etc.... This got me thinking - what is the experience with the stock 19" tire/wheel package - performance, reliability, etc ? I'm in the northeast so do have to worry about road conditions - anyone have problems with damage and having to replace/repair this setup ?

Stock Setup
The stock setup is great for spring, summer, and fall. The wheels themselves are actually pretty high qualifty for OEM. The tires however are very expensive. 250ish per tire.

For winter you will definately need to get a different set of wheels and tires. The most cost effective way to do this is to buy a set of z350 17 stock wheels. They fit fine and can be had for $300 - $400. Then just get some blizzaks or M3s.

With winter tires the car is a tank and the stock 19inch setup is pretty darn good for OEM.

Yeah thats the plan if I decide to drive it in the winter ...get a 17" setup @ tirerack.com. It won't see any snow/ice this winter !

The 19" oem wheels are very good..

The potenzas however... very soft and will wear out quickly. I have almost 15K miles now and still riding on the stock tires/rims.

Don't ever get potenzas lol
