Low tire pressure warning 1 hour after buying brand new G35

An hour after buying my 06 G35 coupe a light popped up on my dash (looked like an exclamation mark). I freaked out and called my sales guy right away and he dismissed it as low tire pressure (due to cold weather in the area). He said to make sure the tires were all set to 35 psi. So I checked and one of them was around 27 psi. I adjusted it to 35 psi and drove the car but the damn light won't turn off Anyway, I'm headed to the dealership tomorrow to see what's going on. Is this normal? Is the tire pressure sensor *that* sensitive? Could it be something else??

he asked YOU to check/fix the pressure? that's so lame on the first day of purchase! they should have asked you to come back immediately so they could fix the problem for you

Welcome to the "Infiniti Ownership Experience". That sounds typical of the service I get from the 3 stealerships in my area.

Generally the low air pressure light will go off after driving a few miles with the proper pressure.

Yea, it was weak he asked me to check the pressure etc, although he also said to bring it in if the problem persisted. More than the crappy customer service I'm concerned this might be a bigger problem (fuse?, bad sensor?, etc). I'm taking it in first thing tomorrow AM. Just wanted to see if this was a known problem. BTW, I've driven the car for more than 50 miles after adjusting the pressure and the alert still shows.

Congrats on the new purchase! I have an 05 coupe 6mt and I love it.
The first really cold morning here in NY, my car threw the (!). There was a dealership on my way to work so I pulled in and had them "top off" each tire. They put roughly 35 psi in each tire, he said you may have to put 1-2 psi more due to the cold temps.

Anyway, dont worry, if it's a bad sensor they'll will fix it for ya no problem.

Enjoy the ride, the exhaust note alone gives me a huge grin. Good luck, hope the problem gets fixed.

some dealers are like that. they forget to check the most fundamental
things. hire the dumbest porters swirling up a brand new car, bending
license plates for their dealer frames, sticking crap on the trunk lid to
promote their dealership, etc.

need to watch out.

I checked my air pressure the day after I got my G home.
I was shocked to see 50 lbs. in each tire. There's no excuse for that.

DAMN, I'd make sure you speak to the top Service manager and let him know about that. That is just ludicrous.

Just bought on 06 G35 coupe two days ago. Had 38 miles on it when I bought it. Just this morning on the way to work, the light was on I noticed and hasn't turned off since ... I had the same problem as you. Calling dealer service dept now to see what they say.

Just called dealership ... he suggested I check my tire pressure. NICE. I bought the car two friggin days ago how about a lil customer service. Man, when I had my Lexus they almost bend over backwards for you ...

Anyways, I played dumb and he said I could bring it in and they'd check it out for me. In either case ... I'm gonna be pissed if this is something I need to do every week. lol.
