i've tried over and over again but they wont fit over the rotor...they fit just fine in their locations but when i go to put them over the rotor they wont fit over it...and yes i compressed the piston if you were wondering, it just seems the pad is too thick and the gap between them isn't wide enough to fit over the rotor..did anyone else have this problem or did i just get the wrong part??? thanks.

btw the part# is - PR430C

that is the right part number. i installed mine this weekend and they fit fine, are you sure you compressed the piston all the way? was the piston flush with the seal? i even used the stock inner shims from the old pads and it fit fine.

 

did you guys push it in by hand? or did you guys use a vice? btw i undid the brake reservoir cap when i was compressing the piston, i am supposed to do this right?? thanks

At the auto parts store you can get one of those brake spreader tools and this will push the pistons back in for you. Be careful that you do not damage the seals for the pistons. You can also loosen the bleeder valves to make it easier to push the pistons back in.

DO NOT TOUCH the bleeder valves. THat will introduce air into the system. Just get the tool that pushes back the pistons and remember to open that brake fluid reservoir to let the fluid lever rise as you push back the pistons. Make sure that none of it spills.

Plain pushin. Just get that $5 or so tool to psh them back from Kragen or some place. Open your master cylinder (the brake fluid container) so as to allow the level to rise as push back the pistons.

woohoo i did it!!! im so happy...i put the pads on in like an hour, the hardest part was just taking off the 2 bolts that hold the calipers on, those things were on there good...now i gotta drive it around for awhile to see how they perform and how much dust they produce if any...then i can really be happy if they work as well as they claim.

btw, thanks for the tips on the brake spreader thingy to compress my pistons, that thing worked like a charm and it only cost like 7 bucks at autozone, well worth it. now i gotta save for some xd/slotted rotors, i can't wait

Don't forget to bed them in. Everyone usually forgets to do that once you install new brake pads.

they work good and my rims are nice and clean. now i will have to see how they hold up. if i get 10k miles out of them i will be happy.

It's called "C-something". Not sure what that something is. Sorry, can't remember right now, but it starts with "C".

its a disk brake pad spreader or just ask them for a tool to compress the piston into the caliper, a "C"-clamp would work also...make sure you remove the cap to your brake fluid so the pressure doesnt force the piston back out and watch your fluid level, make sure it doenst overflow when your compressing it, its highly corrosive...i scooped some of it out and put i in an old coke can with a spoon...good luck
