Hot Rims?
Re: Hot Rims?
I love the SSR's I just got, although I wish the lip wasn't polished... And stupid Wheels Boutique "forgot" to send me the wheel caps.

Re: Hot Rims?
rxkeven, your car looks great. Those SSR's really complement the car and give a very unique look. I think that the polished rims actually look really good, it provides a bit of contrast to the wheel. You can purchase Infiniti wheel caps from your dealer, might be something to consider. If you don't mind me asking, what offsets did you use please. Thanks.

"Anything but Tenzo, Konig, or ADR"
Could have not said it better myself. Some guys need to be told they're not driving Civics and Neons anymore, and cheap $1000 a set rims totally insults and defames the G35C. Would you wear Wal-Mart shoes with your Hugo Boss suit??
Stick with the premium high-end rims (i.e. SSR, BBS, Volks, Rays)

James,
This a mid 30K car!!!, thats drive out price! This isn't your 60-100K Mercedes were talking about here..... get a grip man... This car is only 31k base... please keep in mind of the product before you speak. Don't get me wrong, I luv the car and you can't beat its value for what you're getting..... but really... you need to keep things in perspective.

Re: Hot Rims?
kkh713x,
cmon, Konigs and ADR do really have bad quality. G35C is not a 15K car either, and I think budget rims don't really go well with the Infiniti. For the 60-1000k cars, we can talk about HRE and Fiske rims which cost about $1000/a rim.
But for a 30k car, I think paying a lil more for the better aftermarket rims is appropriate. After all, you are upgrading from the factory rims, which were Rays Engineering to begin with.
If you look at your BMW and MB counterparts, of who also have mid 30k cars, a majority have BBS and SSR rims along with other high-end Euro-tuner rims (Brabus, ACS, Hamann). Heck my SSR Gt3s on my 330i cost me $3500. OUCH.

Re: Hot Rims?
James,
But is it feasible to put 5-6K rims on a mid 30K car? That would take the wheels into almost 17-20% range of the value of the whole freaking car?
$6000 / $33000 = 18% - 19% .... that wouldn't make sense.... would it? Just my opinion though....

Re: Hot Rims?
Paying a kings ransom for a set of "premium high-end" wheels falls right in line with paying more money for the name, just like buying a BMW. I'll admit that in some cases you get what you pay for, but lets keep things in perspective. There are some really "high-end" wheels that are butt-ugly, and there are some "budget wheels" that are nice looking. Tacky wheels can be found for $200 each or $1000 each, it's your choice.

Re: Hot Rims?
I totally agree, the G35 is a quality car and the rims should be a name brand and not a "knock off" brand. Those PIAAS are sweet but they are very expensive, I have priced them. I am thinking about getting a pair of Axis wheels, they are not the top of line but they are quality rims. The main reason I chose these wheels is the sizing 19by8.5 and 19by9.5. That is perfect for my sedan.
