I have pushed these tires through numerous long twisty runs up and down the coast. They appear to be holding up exceptionally well to my surprise. I do not chirp the tires and perform burnouts, if that makes a difference. On my bimmer, I was going through a set of tires every 8 to 10k.

Barely passsed state inspection at 12,000 miles. Not many tire choices for the 2005 6MT. Ended up replacing all four original Bridgstone/Potenza RE050A tires with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires at 15,000 miles last week.
Hey, I read you'd recently replaced your REO50's with PS2's. How do they compare? I need to replace mine and I'm thinking about the PS2's or the F1's. I believe they're all comparable in handling but I want the quietest tire possible. At just over 18k mi, these REO50's are loud and the rears are just about slicks. I drive pretty sanely, mostly backroads, with some spirited driving on occasion. They were fine for the first 10k, but after that, noisy as my old lifted wrangler.
Anyone else with F1's, PS2's in comparison with the REO50's? I know it'll be tough to try and remember how quiet the Potenza's were 10k miles ago. THanks.

The ABS and TCS/VC software is set for oem tires that are fast wearing and soft.........going longer lasting harder will affect stopping distances especially wet/damp stopping!............every ABS cycle adds feet to the stop.
Bridgestone Potenza RE050As sucks look to the survey results

The Michelin's are a somewhat better tire, but also more expensive (even w/ the special on the rear that TireRack has right now). I would rate them as a very good tire, almost excellent.
The Bridgestones are good (albeit not excellent) tires. They definately don't suck.
To bad our cars are so damn hard to fit. The Dunlaps (a great tire at a better price) would then be available.
