Which wheels are you planning to go with? I kind of like the Sevas wheels.

Chrome is easier to clean, but adds weight and if the chrome plating is damaged from curbing you can see it a mile away and replating costs more than repolishing.

Polished looks just as good, but requires a little more maintenance to keep them up, but is worth it.

I would say go with polished.

go with the chrome, its easier to clean. and its not like the added weight in chrome is gonna be a huge difference in performance. polished is nice, but the chrome finish will last you longer.

The difference between chrome and polished is that chrome is dipped in nickel and polished is basicly polishing the alloy/wheel until is shines almost like chrome.

Chrome
Pros: Easy to maintain.
Con: if you get a curb rash, you will have to redipped the wheel(can be very costly when redipped properly.

Polished
Pros: If get a curb rash, you just have to get them repolished(repolishing will take off all the clear coat)
Con: Tougher to maintain due to clearcoat/anodized. Easy to make scratches. Alway use mircro fiber when cleaning and never us chemical.

I have 20" Wed Kranze LXZ which has chrome center and polished lips. There was a minor curbrash on one of the wheels and has some chemical stains. Just got them repolished and they are very shinny again. Almost like chrome. The only thing is that the clear coat is off so I should clean them often.

Hope this helps.

I dont have a whole lot of money laying around, and I dont really want to spend too much on wheels,so I was thinking about the Stern ST-2, they are about $980 for all four 20" wheels. Plus another 1,000 for tires..but thats another story.

If you have a coupe, you can pickup wheels and tires that I am selling for $500 more than what you are planning to spend.

They are 20" Maya GR5 with tires $2500

Check market place of the forum if you are intersted.
