Tire profile different (front-back) ??
Tire profile different (front-back) ??
** For Volk Racing GT-C wheels, 19 inch, 8.5" wide in front, 9.5" back) ** I'm looking at getting 245/40R19 for the fronts and 275/40R19 for the rear to stay with the same profile as stock.
I noticed many of the tires (ex. BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW2) has the correct profile of 40 for the front (i.e. same as stock for 2005 6 speed coupe) but they don't make the 275/40R19's..... can it be OK to run 40 profile in front and 35 profile in back ?
What do you guys have as a set up (for tire size on 19 inch wheels ) ?

I think you're a little confused on what the profile number means. The profile number is a percentage of your tread width. For example, lets take the tire size 275/40/19. This tire size means that your sidewall height is 40% of 275mm which equates to 110mm.
Your main goal is to buy a wheel/tire package that is close (within 3%) to the overall diameter of your stock wheels/tires. So like Kenchan was saying your proper/popular size rear tire would be a 275/35/19. Even though the profile number isnt the same as stock...the actual sidewall height is very close to being the same because its a percentage.
