How much should I pay to get the TPS swaped to my new wheels??

Hi

My new wheels will come in by end of next week, and I am going to swap the TPS from my OEM wheel to the new one. How much should I be looking to pay the dealer?? (they quoted me around $100 over the phone). Is it something that any tire shop can do? How much would I be looking at paying at a normail tire shop???

Chris@DTD told me that the TSW Thruxton will work with the stock TPS, dose it???

Thanks

Mahdi

1. look for another dealer.......
2. tps sensors are attached at the valve stem area..........it would be part of the regular process of tire dismount and mount..........anyone who charges you for that is just writing their own check, with YOUR checkbook, right in front of you.......

Why dealer? goto a tire shop and asked for a tire stem change. $3-4 a wheel. Give them a heads up that its a tps and needs to be screw off not pop off. They'll put a rubber stem on your old wheels and then you put the TPS on your new wheel(if theres no tire on them yet). I did this last week for my new wheel. TIghten them 34 "INCH" LBS

Walmart is cheap,$2.xx for tire stem change but only if you can convinced them that the tps ONLY screws off, even a 8 year old can twist them off but they are some chicken ****s and wont touch any TPS. Afraid that they damage it and have to pay for it.

The TPS will fit the Thruxtons without issue. Like the other guys said, the swap is a breeze and any shop shouldn't charge you any extra to install them

So its as easy as that? Just twist it off your stock rims and twist back on to your new ones? Do you have to take the tire off your old rims to get it out? I thought there was a little box on the inside of the rims that was part of the TPS?

Yes, the tire needs to be removed in order to gain access to the sensors.
