Tires : General Exclaim UHP
General Exclaim UHP
rated #1 right now on tirerack.com. Im in the process of buying and my choices are (not in specific preference of choice) :
1) BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2
2) Kumho ECSTA SPT
3) Bridgestone Potenza RE750
As of now, im leaning towards the GForce KDW2...
Being rated #1, the General Exclaim UHP caught my eyes. The tirerack.com rating looks like its a number 1 candidate for my summer tires. Have any of you guys used or know any info on this tire brand besides the stuff on tirerack?

"I purchased these tires to replace my stock Goodyear NCT5 that came on my G35 Sedan with the Sport Package. I was afraid to even try Generals due to past experience with them and how horrible most of the tires they make were. But these tires have definitely made a serious impression. This weekend I went with the Nissan Z club through a 400 mile drive in the hill country of speeds excess of 80~ mph with these tires. Taking turns at 100% faster speeds than posted. The tires GRIPPED, and I mean GRIPPED. It rained on the morning part of the drive and the tires GRIPPED! I had issues trying to break the tires loose in the wet in turns. The car just would not do it and it would turn! People were amazed how well I was doing! They are very quiet but not the queitest, and definitely show they will not wear very fast at all. The ride from 18s to 19s did not suffer much at all. These tires seem to keep it nice. -- Review Submitted 2006-01-31"
Anyone on this forum btw?

Don't overlook the Dunlop Sport Maxx. I just did a wheel upgrade and chose the Dunlops over everything else. I haven't had them for long, but so far I'm very impressed. Suprisingly smooth and quiet ride with gobs of grip. It looks like a lot of other customers agree, as they're rated #1 in the Tire Rack's online survey (different category than the Generals).
