20inch rims g35 sedan

I recently purchased these rims http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-BL...spagenameZWDVW And i tried to order tires that were. 275/35 in the back and 275/40 in the back, they wouldnt ship the tires because they couldnt gurante it would fit. Does anyone know what size tires i can get that will fit without rubbing. I would appreciate it, thanks alot

A 275 in the front is too wide, get a 245. A 275 in the rear is ok. Offset wise, they are wrong, those ofsets are more suited for a coupe...well wait till the experts post and they'll fill you in much better.

you are about 10mm off on the offset - sedan front 8.5" rim offset should be +43; 9.5" rear should be +43 also. the good thing is that you can have a shop machine 10mm off the wheels - but i've never heard of this actually done.

as far as tire sizes go, you can use the tire size calculator:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

i don't remember exactly the stock tire size, but i have 245/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rear, which match the stock tire diameter perfectly.

for the front you can get 235/30-20, and for rear 275/25-20. but don't take my word on it - do more research.

without re-machining the wheels for larger offset (for the wheel to sit deeper inside the fender), you will rub in a major big big big way on all 4 fenders. i don't think rolling the fenders will help.

spacers will push the wheel out further. You want to go the other way .

Your offset is pushing the rims out too far, so adding spacers are going to push the rims out more. Remember when you add spacers you subtract from the offset...

Front 20x8.5 +38, 245/35/20
Rear 20x9.5 +45, 275/30/20

That is what I have and that is what I recommend. The rear offset you have will hit the rear fender for sure. You have to roll your fenders to avoid this, and you SHOULD NOT get 275/35/20 as they are too tall. Get the tires I mentioned above and roll your fenders in the rear and you're good to go.

No shop will machine 10mm off the mounting pad. It will compromise the integrity of the wheel. You can probably get away with 5mm and that is cutting it close and something I wouldn't personally do.

Why even bother? Just get the correct offsets.

With that offset and wheel size in the rear, I don't even think rolling the fenders will help. Some guys are running 8.5/+35 in the rear and have slight rubbing issues. A 9.5 wheel will be much worse.

Be patient, don't rush into a wheel purchase without doing your homework. Getting the wrong set-up will just lead to headaches down the road.
