weight and performance

How much of a difference in acceleration and performance would you see with wheels that are 3lbs lighter? Is there going to be any noticable difference in acceleration?

Rotational Mass is the worst kind there is for a car because of the way it has to be accelerated on 2 planes: around it's axis and also laterally (forward or backwards.)

At a bare minimum, you're losing effectively twice the actual weight of the wheels for about 6 lbs per wheel in your case. I've seen figures as high as 7 times but the most common multiplier I've seens is around 4 times the actual static weight reduction. Going by that, you could be losing 48 lbs effectively.

I don't know if you're going to notice it as it takes about 100 lbs to gain a tenth or so in the 1/4. Regardless, this will improve the performance of your car in pretty much every aspect (or hurt it for those going the other way). Handling, braking, and acceleration will improve.

In my own experience, if it's city/highway driving you do...you won't even notice it. If you're on the track...you will (some).

The "3 pounds lighter" is just the justification (along with looks) that you need to switch wheels. At least you're not going heavier.
