Re: Getting Tein Springs any input???

What a day! I'm pooped from all the work and running around I did today. All because I want my springs installed today. It was well worth it though. I'm to tired to post any pics today besides I still have to get a pic of the "after" install. All I can say is that it has change the ride dramatically. I wasn't expecting a big change, but boy was I wrong. At first I couldn't tell, because I was just driving on the surface street. When I got on the fwy it was a different story the bounce that I noticed on the back with the stock spring was gone. It is planted on the ground pretty well. The front tire is tucked underneath the wheel well and the rear could use 1/2 " more but I'm not complaining. The ride is awesome I went up a twisty road just to test the handling not disappointed with my drive. Body roll was significantly less.....I can't beleive that the dealer said that the stock setup was a sport tuned suspension. I just changed the springs and the handling improved night and day. To early to tell if there are any kind of problems from this simple setup. All I can do is wait an see, but for immediate results you will not be disappointed. I highly recommed the Tein setup over the Eibachs (had this before on other cars results have always been dissapointing). I will post the pics as soon as I can hopefully tomorrow.

Re: Getting Tein Springs any input???

The stock sport suspension has bounce, that would be the first time anyone has ever said that. No if you want bounce try the 350Z suspension, that's bounce.

The Tein's uses significantly weaker rear spring rates(30% less!), buyer beware. Your handling at the limit will move more towards understeer, especially since the front rate's are exactly the same as stock. Your handling improvement's are coming from a lowered center of gravity. Not from keen wisdom on spring rate choice's. Also, they are progressive so part of your suspension travel is done on spring rates that are softer than stock, which need's to have special considerations for those that are interesting in ultimate handling and plan on pushing the car offten. Tein does not give the lower initial spring rate's to their tech's, the spring rates they have are final rates. When compairing spring rates for the sedan application Eibach vs. Tein, the Eibach's are superior.
Tein: 358 front 274 rear
Eibach: 259/334 front 359/413 rear
Stock: 357/407 (Sedan w/sport suspension)

If we move the spring comparison to the Coupe, this is what you get.
Tein: 358 front 274 rear
Eibach: 229/337 front 274/463 rear

Notice how Eibach went with really soft inital rates, and how their inital rear rate is the same as Tein's final rear rate.

The whole point of all this is, you cannot trust every great well meaning company in the suspension business to make the most sensicle choices. None of this would be known, if I had not done some simple research and make a number of phone calls. Know what your putting on your car, suspension wise before you take the plunge in blind faith. Also know what your priorities are as well, as to better guide you in your quest.
