GTM Supercharger Kit
Hey guys. Just picked up the car yesterday!
First off, let me tell you that the total install is absolutely beautiful. GTM definitely does first class work! Everything looks basically stock, especially with the black coated intercooler sitting way back behind the front bumper. Even the mounting of the oil cooler and transmission cooler are absolutely perfect. They match the angle of the front bumper and sit within a 1/4" of the inside edge of the outside air ducts (which I opened up using a drill, dremel, and hand file), so you can hardly tell they are even there unless you look really closely. Apparently mounting these coolers behind the sedan bumper was no easy task, but they now have the proper brackets designed so it should be a straight forward install for everyone else.
I haven't had much of a chance to really drive the car and put the SC through it's paces yet. There was a ton of traffic on my way home from GTM last night, but I did get a couple of openings on the highway where I could really open it up.... the car is an absolute rocket; took just a few seconds to go from 60 - 120 mph. You need to make sure the VDC if off, though, because it kicks in all the time under hard acceration now, even at 100 mph! I think the car sees the real wheels acceration so fast now and it just thinks that they've lost traction even though they haven't.
Everything runs smoothly, and the tranny shifts like a dream now. The only thing I've noticed and Sam said is easy to fix if that sometime when I come to a stop the car idles a little low (around 600 - 700 rpms) which makes it idle a little rough. Most of the time the idle stays at 800 - 900 rpms and is smooth as silk. Sam's says this is most likely because of the larger injectors and he is going to raise the idle up just a tiny bit the next time I bring my car in. There is also quite a bit of fluttering from the blow off valve when decelerating... it's only really noticeable with the windows down and you can barely hear it with the windws up, but I did get some strange looks from my neighbors driving around my neighborhood last night. Other than that, so far everything works perfectly.
I'll post a more detailed review once I get some more miles on the car... I'll be driving it to Vegas for SEMA next week, so that will give me some miles behind the wheel.

I think the bypass valve fluttering sound will drive me crazy, I have already bought a forged bypass valve maybe that will eliminate that sound. I found your drive video on another site:

I'm very interested to know if the forged bypass valve you plan to use cures the fluttering. Please PM as soon as you get everything installed and let me know how everything works. I know Sam said that he had your kit almost ready to go... just needed the brackets for the oil coolers... so hopefully you get your kit soon!
Nice
A question about the discussion 2/3 into the video. By overdrive, are you both talking about 5th gear? If so, even on DS, you can get into 5th gear so does that mean technically one shouldn't hit 5th gear at full boost?
Or did i misunderstand?
Thanks!

Sam have you had the opportunity to try any different bypass valves yet? I'm really excited about the kit, just a little discouraged with the flutter sound. There has to be a solution for that.
