Touch up paint around the holes will also prevent rust and not look as bad as the primer considering that 4 holes will show outside of the mat!!!! great job though!

A point to add... im sure all g35's come with the boot prewired for the spoiler brakelight, the wiring harness that runs to the lock, there should be an unused connector wrapped up, that is a brake light connector. Just tap those 2 wires, saves running wires down through rubber connector and wiring into 3rd brake light in window. Would still just disconnect the plug for the 3rd brake light in window to give the same effect.
Also... a must! Make sure you cover the sides of the rear of the car and probably the majority of the boot to stop the shavings from the drill hitting the paint work, there a nightmare to get off, as they will scratch the paint. i think also if there hot from drilling they sink into the paintwork a bit, they will rust up real quick and make a mess! Sadly this never occured to me when i installed mine, and now i have quite a few tiny spots on the rear part of car!

Excellent DIY. I just installed the spoiler on my car following these steps and the final result was great. The hardest part for me was putting on the four end screws. If you're not careful they could end up in between the two trunk metal layers (happened to me, lol). Anyway, thanks for the write up
