NEW SPL PRO front compression rod bushings
#16
I have somewhere around 45K on the car... I replaced twice (but really didn't need to the 2nd time - those bushings are actually still good)...
point is I'd rather pay $50 every now & then to keep decent ride quality.

Also, I have a used pair with 45K or so on them, perfectly fine... replaced while chasing a different problem... I'll sell them cheap.

^^^ it's been over five years since I drove a stock Z (since then only modified)... but from what I remember the G sedan was much more cushy... the Z was a blast, but much stiffer... struts and springs alone? Maybe... but again, the Z is an actual sports car - no one is going to notice (or certainly not complain) about a slightly harsher ride compared to a semi-luxury sport sedan/coupe.
Like most things - each driver is going to notice things differently... until there is some feedback from people using these bushing on a G (in my case sedan), I dont think anyone can accurately state what the feel is.

same money? How is a bushing going to cost the same as the entire rod?... it doesn't make sense to make an after market rod when its only the bushing that goes bad.... even the TSB for dealer service departments says to replace bushing and not entire rod.

The dealer near my house says they do not replace the bushing, they will only replace the whole rod when a car comes in for service.
If you buy these SPL bushings for $100+ also add another $100+ for the labor at the dealer. I'm sure other places can do the pressing cheaper, but whey not make a rod for $100?

cost me $40 for a set of compression rod bushings through Riverside Infiniti. If you know someone you can press them in yourself. My total cost was $40. Had a dealership pressed them in it would have cost me an extra $60.
$100 vs $340
(not including removal/install if you don't do it yourself)
I only paid $40...
big difference to me
