Angry Motor Blew. With Pics

As some of you may know I was doing a vortech s/c install and the car was being tuned at Cobb. Here is a link on my350z. I will rebuild I just don't know if I want to this big job by myself or have a shop do it.

I still think this sucks I don't want to jump to conclusions but this isn't right. I literally cried when I heard the news feel like my dog died.

Thanks Twalls for being honest hehe. I still can't believe all that work for it to go boom sitting still on the dyno. It will live again, just be alot more time and money involved.

It's still hard to believe I have that much time and money ahead of me to drive my baby again. Thanks for the kind words.

There's no need to point fingers at Cobb. They're a great facility and knowledgeable in how to tune cars. They've been in the game a long time.

It's FI. It's a gamble. You can minimize risk to a degree with supporting mods and safety measures, but risk is still there. Could have been as simple as a bad batch of gas...the logs will shed light on what happened.

agreed.... cobb didnt get to where they are bc they're not trustworthy. i took a huge risk and put my car into a shop that works mostly on other cars, but i knew what i was going in with. you can just sit back and cross your fingers and hope for the best. some of us make it out perfectly, some have some obstacles.

cobb is a huge part of the import scene, and becoming even bigger in dallas. i've never taken my car to them, but hey, like will said, with FI, your'e always gonna risk it.

hell, i signed up for AAA cause of my car, cause i dont trust it on longer drives... haha!

I edited my post you guys are right it may have nothing to do with Cobb I don't have enough information to assume anything. I was devastated and was venting and there the obvious scape goat. I will rebuild I can't turn back now I don't think I am going to do the work myself, I have a family that I enjoy spending time with and it's only money right. Talking to a few shops and trying to figure my course of action.

Dude, 13 psi on a stock motor? I am not the slightest bit surprised that it blew. I'm running 6 psi...
