I was pretty interested in this too. From what I can tell from building it on the Infiniti website, it only comes in auto and the "red sport" is 50k +. Correct me if I'm wrong. If that is true though, I'll be really dissapointed. Looking to upgrade soon and wouldn't mine staying with Infiniti if I could have another manual and afford it.

ya the 50k price tag is kinda steep. i would stick with your current car for a few more years, and wait till a leased model becomes available.

It's a nice package, I've considered it too, but the price tag has me thinking. I an take a quart of that, put it in the Coupe and have those same numbers.
I guess it really take a ride to see if it really worth the $$

ya i hope the new coupe has that 3 liter in it. well infiniti has to have a car that will compete with the new lexus RCF coupe. that thing has a monster engine in it. a 5.0L V8 making 476HP, is no joke.

When they announced the coupe they said that it's going to be available with all the motor options as a current Q50 sedan. I'm not sure if the 400hp version is a good buy though if theoretically you can turn the boost up on the 300hp motor and get that same 400hp.

I have a 2015 Q50S and I wish I had waited for the "Red Sport" I love my Q, save for the 7 speed auto" which is not bad as autos go, and with an additional 75hp, it would be a blast.

I don't know how the Q stacks up interior wise with the last G series (mine is a 2005) but I love it. Very comfortable, nice leather etc.

BTW, I think the only way the "Red Sport" comes is with the 7 speed tranny. Rumors are that a 7 speed "twin clutch" set up is in the works.

How long until Red Sport gets shortened to RS50 and Audi sues? I mean, the former CEO was an Audi guy and brought the whole Audi style naming convention.

I'm really hoping for a 6MT on the coupe. If not, hoping this engine makes it into the next generation Z with a manual trans option.

That new q50 looks like a grandma car. But all of you think it's some type of track performance car because it has twin turbos lol it's a family sedan pushing 400 hp sitting at 4k pounds of weight. It will put down around 340 and be heavier than a g37 but cost double of a g37 lol

IMHO, not the Sport version. The front fascia is quite different and more agressive. From the back, yes it does. A nice diffuser helps

I will hold off on new motor and Boost for my coupe until new Q50 coupe comes out. If I'll get all hot and bothered test driving it, I'll pull a trigger, but even then a used Jag F-Type would be a better option.
So it looks like new built motor and boost is still on the horizon for my G.

Financially it would make more sense to buy a G37 and a TT kit, boost to 500+ and call it a day.

Drove the Q50S Twin Turbo

Bored so I decided to stop by the local infiniti dealership to test drive a new Q50 red sport AWD.

Power is not abrupt and delivery of power is smooth. If there was any lag, I did not notice it The sales person configured the handling to be in Sport+ mode. I was expecting the steering and suspension to tighten up when I was doing some apex turns but it felt a little light. Did not feel any body roll but was able to partially chirp the rear wheels (I should have warmed up the tires a little more). The safety nannies of course was doing its thing. Brakes were not grabby.

Kind of reminds me of my old school 2002 VQ35 in power delivery. Smooth and gradual but power was on tap when you needed it. Of course, when I had enough room to stretch it legs, I had to stop a little early due to construction on the roads.

Insides look like the same as the last Q50 perhaps with some subtle finish upgrade options.

How does it sound? Little too quiet. I was hoping to hear the classic G exhaust but it was quiet on start up and driving. Aurally, I wish Infiniti paid homage to the original sound.

Price on the sticker up here in Cowtown is $54K (cdn) plus freight, taxes (includes navi)

Tech package includes all the safety nannies but that ups the price to over $60K.

Visually, if you are not paying attention to its S3.0 T logo and different wheels, it looks like any other Q50 sedan.

If I were to consider it (need more SUV space due to family hauling requirements), I would easily choose this over comparable offerings from BMW and MB. I wish I could have included a more in depth review but was not even expecting to have one of these available for test drives. The coupe of course is where other people placed their $1K deposits to hold them as they will be arriving in July/August for them.

Pictures for both the sedan and coupe are everywhere so there is no point for me to include them here.
