Exclamation Poll: Oil Consumption

Please only vote if your car is experiencing the 1qt/1000 mile (or similar) oil consumption problem.

This original thread got me wondering (https://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110973). This poll will help us determine which year/models are having this serious problem. After we have enought replies, I will post another poll with more specific criteria for the most voted year/models.

but will a new engine really resolve the issue?? or are we looking at a recurring problem? i think infiniti should get their act together on this one.

I've used synthetic throughout the duration of owning my car and I still lose at least 1qt/1k miles.

That's crazy ....2004 6MT synthetic oil and mobil 1 filters every time...i don't add any oil and lose nothing noticeable between changes...change the oil at 4k miles or earlier...28k miles on the engine.....

^ lucky you. Wanna switch motors?

I use Mobil 1 synthetic w/ OEM Nissan oil filter. I change my oil every 3,500. On 2-3 diffrent occasions, my oil level light has come on after 2,000-2,500 miles. On many occasions, I drain the oil only to find ~2qt come out.

Learn how to read it Or just look when you change your oil, it should drain out ~4qt or more.

like i said, if infiniti/nissan has not corrected the problem, what makes us think that replacing the motor fix the problem??

I find it interesting that in this poll the 03,04 and 05 AT are dead even. This is a large group-we most defenitely could make Infiniti pay attention and belly up.

Oil consumption between oil changes..........

Ever since I read about the oil consumption on our
site I've been watching mine very close. I don't use
a drop between oil changes on my '04 AT! Sorry to
hear the problem exists!!
