Wow. THis is like Iraq. If they just learn to vote years of sectarian discord will cease.

The voting is meaningless. One is better than the other, but a lot of people who have probably never run a comparison between the two are not qualified to have their opinions taken into account.

I say X50.. Better value if you ask me, and much easier to find for cheap on ebay..

 

I feel that each unit has its own good points and bad points . . . And as such, I flipped a coin and made an executive decision, last night. The Escort 8500 X50 won the best of 2 outta 3 flips.

I have the X-50 also. But, you raise and interesting point. Why are X-50's easier to find than V-1's? Could it be that V-1's are more coveted?

 

V1's are not sold in stores.

The reviews are good for both detectors but I personally got the Escort because it was way cheaper.

 

This thread is worthless. First one must define "better" in terms of radar detectors. Unless you've owned or had first-hand experience with both, you're not qualified to determine which is "better" anyway.

The X50 is better.

 

confused which one to get. which one can detect in all directions? have the least false alarms? and can work well on all or most bands? the all around reliable one?

 

EXACTLY!!! i'll vote for the V1 just cuz i own it lol but I haven't tested both to see what's best...

 

the v1 is the best. i have the x50 but the v1 is great too. you wont lose either way. the x50 is cheaper, hence i got it and it has great reviews
