I followed the same instructions and agree with max2's comment. 30 minutes and done. I don't have that whistle noise either.

The filter that I bought had an arrow pointing up but the word "AIR FLOW" beside the arrow was upside down if I held it with arrow pointing up. The official instructions read "The filter is installed so that the arrow, on the end of the filter, is facing the rear of the vehicle and is pointed upward." [1]

Looking at the picture, did I install it wrong ? Is it worth changing or just leave it like this ? I installed it 2 month ago

Thanks!

^^ I would trust the arrow for the correct direction and NOT whether the word "airflow" was upside down or not.

I found removing the glove box a little difficult. I didn't want to use too much force for fear of breaking something, but eventually figured it out. Here are a couple of pictures to give others an idea of how the glove box is hinged.

Back of the glove box:

The area behind the glove box:

Put your hands on the bottom edge of the glove box and pull out towards you and slightly up, and it'll come off the track. I found it easier to do it one side at a time.

There's also a string on the left side of the glove box that provides the soft open feature; you need to disconnect this to move the glove box completely out of the way.

The string is connected to a bracket that has a hole and a peg:

(I apologize for this blurry image. I didn't realize it until I was done swapping the filter.)

Here's where it's attached on the left side of the glove box:

The peg on the bracket connected to the string has a split in the middle. It's the type that expands when inserted into a hole--you need to squeeze the peg to get it to come back out.

Hope that helps.
