I've decided to upgrade my intake manifold, and lots of people do the Crawford plenum or the MRev 2 with a spacer. While I was looking in to the 2 i came upon the Kinetix SSV, i search the forum, but not many people have it. Is it worth the $800, does it perform any better than the Crawford Plenum or the Mrev2? Ive seen some pics and it makes the engine bay look pretty sick.

 

i believe people say that the SSV is better for FI VQ's... but people have put the SSV on NA VQ's also. With the NA VQ's running SSV's they dont notice that big of a gain... but notice a big improvement on throttle response. I plan on running the SSV in the future (with my NA VQ, plan on SC later later on)... even though it cost a lot... take into consideration that it is THE best looking take manifold on the market for a VQ

 

a few people who ran it N/A on the site said it wasnt nearly as good as when running FI.........id go with crawford if staying NA

 

I read in one of the magazines that the SSV on a N/A motor losses HP... Only go SSV if ur gonna do FI...

 

Well i plan on gon FI with a TT setup, but that wont be for a while

 

so then its up to you if you dont mind the loss in power.. but the bling under the hood... and the loss of 8 bills

 

heard it sucks. all its good for is a show piece. get the crawford plenum or motordyne spacer.

intersting, they have a few dynos with proven power with the ssv...I was really planning on ordering one, once the orders are not backed up haha. I was actually wondering about the rumored "cracking issues" any info???

I have the SSV on a NA 05 G35, and I cannot comment on power gains, because I have yet to have the car dynod and tuned with a U-tec. I will say the sound out of the manifold is considerable deeper than stock and it looks awesome. If staying NA I would probably go Mrev for the most power, but the SSV is an awesome thing to have when someone asks to look at the engine!

should be dynod sometime this comming week, I will post the results in the Reviews section on the forum. Their dyno(Knowledge Performance) system crashed and they had to send their computer back to dynapak to get it fixed. Should be working this week and I will get up there as soon as I can.
