what is wrong with good old radar on the windshield and wires all over the dash?
I like it that way.

Here is an update on my little project...

I bought an extra molding piece to practice cutting on.. the color doesn't match obviously cuz i couldn't find a matching one cheaper than $50.. picked this up for $25

sorry about the darkness.. just finished up and wont see my car for 2 weeks after tomorrow cuz it's goin in the shop

i was able to snape some daylight pix before takin it into the shop...

the cleanest is in the ashtray and you can tuck it away when you don't need it.

 

clean, but idiotic and dangerous.... you hafta look down away from the road to see where your radar is coming from.... you might as well not have the concealed display if you are going to look down... very hazardous.


you need to have it in your line of site so you do not need to take your eyes off the road.

 

True, but looking at your speedo is still taking your eyes off the road for that split second. If you wanted it to be the line of sight it would be on the windsheild, maybe someone make a projected display for the v1 like the delfi vcd .

 

you don't even have to take your eyes off the road where i have mine mounted. it is in my direct line of sight. i do not need to look anywhere to see where it is coming from because i already see it. if it is in your cig holder, you have to look down and away with your head and eyes.

I actually tried placing it on top of my gauge cluster... (below the windshield). the reflection from the lights onto the windshield was very irritating and distracting and affected my vision at night...

 

i really like what you've done with your V1 on top of the steering column.

i personally don't even look down at mine in the ashtray... having had my V1 for 3-4 years already i've gotten used to the different beeps indicating the radar type and severity. knowing the roads i drive and the type of radar the po-po use around here, i really don't even take notice unless i hear the tone indicating Ka band

yeah i'm getting used to the sounds now, but I still want to know where it is coming from.

my project will be completed on dec 19th... hafta go down to florida to pick up the parts because the package was accidentally forwarded down... goin down for a week then coming back and completing.... pix will follow
