Similar to what I did about 2 years ago. Mine is inside the cluster. I did a DIY writeup on removing the cluster here.

It blocks the turn signal and brights indicators but I never look at them anyway.

 

nice setup.. I wanna be able to remove it easily though.. I'm gunna work on it tomorrow and see what I can come up with...

 

(although if I am able to get that extra piece of trim, it would be interchangable)

 

hey filanj have u though about mount them inside the cigarret lighter box it look super clean when u close them ?thats where i mount mine look really nice

to the poster above, most of us are mounting it higher up instead of in the ash tray so its within the line of sight. also my edfc unit is in my ash tray.

 

If you mount it in the cig box it will be out of your line of sight. When it's in the cluster you see it go off in your peripheral before you hear it.

 

that's exactly why I want it near the cluster

I thought about doing that, but I want it in my view of sight... light travels faster than sound. I want that **** in my face for better reaction time... I'm working on something that would be a sick upgrade for the display position
