Generally speaking if you need to know something about your new car it's
always in the owners manual.......knowledge is power!

Not sure if it's a picture of a 350z, but those are the jack points that I use to jack up my car.

Do any of you use regular floor jacks to lift the g35?

I like using ramps instead of jacking it up

Yes, I've decided to go with ramps as well. It looks a lot safer to me. I'll be changing my oil tomorrow morning with 5 quarts of pennzoil 5W-30.

That picture is from a g35 service manual.

I used to jack up one corner of the car, put it on a jack-stand, then put the jack under the center point. Now I just drive my car onto 2-2x4's, and I can get the jack under there.

You can use the stock jack to do an oil change. Just be sure to use jack stands while you're under the car. Ramps are just too hard to get the car on, especially a manual car. My main fear with ramps is driving too far only to go slamming down the other end of the ramp. Plus, using a jack allows you to lower the car while the oil drains to get all of it out. If your ramps aren't level to begin with, how do you plan to move the car without oil in the engine?
