Is there a really big difference in premium vs regular gas?

As far as regular vs premium I don't think it's much of a big difference, although higher octanes are supposed to make you go faster.. And I've never heard of regular gas causing problems, probably a myth, because I have some cheap friends that fill their Benz/BMW's with regular gas and it works fine..

The engine and computer are tuned for a fuel between 91 octaine & up. Anything less will cause the engine to run less efficiently & possibly cause wear. The price difference is not much when you do the math. [2 bucks at the most]. I really can't see any logic in penny pinching over gas when we drive this type of car . I use Shell 93 and my car runs great.

What happens is the higher compression alone will cause the fuel/air mixture to detonate before the piston has reached TDC/maximum compression where it's supposed to.
Not a good idea to run low octane fuel in these things....

I know lots of people with cars that "require" 91 octane who don't use premium gas because of the ****ed up gas prices and have been doing so for years actually and they haven't had any problems with using normal gas. And they are using it on cars with less reliability than our cars, like R/T Chargers and stuff. I don't know ANYONE who has had problems using regular gas in $40k, $50k, $60k cars...
If you think gas is overpriced then stop buying cups of coffee from starbucks for $4! For god sake a gallon of gas is cheaper than a cup of damn ice coffee at starbucks...
