Is there a really big difference in premium vs regular gas?

Hell...my rev-up VQ pings on 91 as it is. Lower oct would slowly be digging it's grave.
For ppl who say premium isnt necessary...read your Effin manual and look inside your gas door

And since all modern nissan/infiniti engines automatically adjust engine timing to avoid knocking, you get lower hp and mpg using regular gas and make the engine work harder vs. good premium. The shell near my place actually has a sticker that says "V-Power 93, is 100% gasoline, no ethanol".
Although....what is worse than regular is getting premium from gas station where the premium is so stale, since it has been in the sitting in the ground too long, that the hydrocarbons have separated. So don't go to the ghetto gas station, go to a neighborhood with a decent number of premium users.
I used premium exclusively on a recent road trip of 1500 miles, and didn't see any better gas mileage than when I've used 87 octane.
As for alcohol content, alcohol is high in octane, so probably isn't in the 87 stuff.
In Nebraska last week, the 89 octane was the 10% ethonal blend, and the cheapest. I don't know what ratio was used in the more expensive 87 and 91 octane.

To add more theoretical bull****, the G should be more sensitive to premium vs. regular than the R/T...

All I know is mine says premium only (see my pix
) and doesn't state recommended as I've seen on some other vehicles, in which you could use reg safely imho.
-unsubscibed...seee ya

hmm, mine says "for optimal performance use 91 octane". nothing about it being required. usually i run 91, if gas prices are crazy, i'll run 89. don't notice much difference, but have to say it really wakes up once i get through about a quarter of a tank of 94, start to notice the timing advance.

already.
