G35 Sport Side Sill vs Journey

I'm trying to see the difference between the side sills on my Journey compared to the "unique" side sills that are included with the Sport. There doesn't seem to be much difference? Am I missing something? Would one be able to order the Sport Side Sills (OEM) if one liked these better?

Thanks!

The difference seems subtle until you compare side by side, plus the front bumper is a lot different. The Sport sill has more of a "fin" to it.

You and I both. I hae the sport and for the life of me can't see the diff in side sills between the sport and the other variants.

I agree it's subtle. I never knew there was a difference until after I bought my G. Now, it's very noticeable to me. Basically, the Journey sides are just flat whereas the sport side skirts flare out a little bit at the bottom.

Here's kalvinmaui's awesome journey w/o side skirts:

Here's jayjay3452's sport - note the side skirts flare out a little at the bottom?

The reflection from the sun accentuates the side skirt on the sport in this pic:

Sport RULES..... JOURNEY SUCKS!!!!

J/K. At the dealership I couldn't decide which one I liked better for looks. After a while, I'm glad I got the sport, but it's subtle.

Yeah, the side sills on the Sport are really subtle but you can definitely notice the difference when parked beside a Journey or X. I like the subtle look of the sides sills better myself.

I really like the look of the side sills Shane, IMO verything about the Sport is great, I'm a bit prejudice though...............

ah okay, I can see it now. Thanks for posting the pics guys. Is it possible to swap out the Journey side sills for the Sport? Price? I know there are after market ones but I don't want to drastically change the OEM look nor add a ton of heavy looking plastic to my ride. Althought I like that front kit on kalvinmaui's G.

Ask Jason at Riverside Infiniti. I'm sure he can get them for you. In fact, I think I saw them on their parts website for about $500+ for the pair.

i wonder if the side skirts involve drilling... or if the rocker moulding we have now is covering already existing holes and all you have to do is snap in place, after you remove the rocker moulding.

Looks like it's a direct bolt on from this diagram of the non-sport I got from Riverside Infiniti's site. Don't know if double sided adhesive is involved:

Surprisingly, the non-sport side skirts are more expensive than the sports:

I am not a big fan how the sport bumper looks. But that just personal taste.

someone do this already 400+ for simple bolt on clip on or 3m tape stuff is reasonable, my mazda3 you had to drill like 10 or more holes to clip on side skirts. I had to get people to do it. If its no drilling involved. For the X theres nothing special other than the seats, front bumper, and the side sills and wheels right?

I was thinking about pairing the sport side skirts w/ the Nismo front lip:

But I think the sport side skirts may be too subtle to match the Nismo front lip. I think the Tommy Kaira side skirts would probably be a good match, but I don't know if I want to spend close to $2K ($1300 + shipping from japan + painting):
