does your car jerk/move when you go from park to N to drive or whatever.. vice versa.... do you also feel resitance when you are pressing the button and trying to move it.

No.

Do you park on inclines or declines without using the parking brake?

Yeah I just push the button to get out of park then release it as it'll automatically move out of neutral to go into drive if I simply just pull it down.

I've never had that jerky issue though.

mine jerks, on a cold start, from park to reverse, or from park to drive.

Even worse, my transmission gives me a hard shift from 1st to 2nd when cold, it almost feels like it is slipping a little...

I'm really not happy about this, it performs this feat about 1 of every 4 cold starts...feels like the transmission may be starting to fail, at only 11k!!!!!!!!!

I plan on taking my car into the dealer soon.

They haven't been able to fix anything, my car has also had a slight pull to the left since the very beginning, and they claim its "within normal operating specs" and my A/C smells musty, and their suggestion is to turn off A/C a few minutes before shutting the car off, that is really inconvenient, and defeats the whole purpose of the "automatic climate control".

If I wanted these kinds of problems, I'd go back to BMW, at least I'd get a better driving feel.

I'll let you know what the dealer says, I'm pretty sure they'll be "unable to reproduce the condition".

Funny how my neighbor across the street, who is a very high ranking engineer at Nissan North America, notices the pull to the left and the transmission jerk, and thinks both are things that need to be fixed...

The AC will, in almost every car, smell musty if you are not careful depending on climate, location and other factors.

uh, not in my experience. I have owned Nissans, Hondas, BMWs, Chryslers and Fords over the years, and have NEVER encountered this problem.

Not sure I would call it a jerk, but then I let the RPMs drop down to 1,300 before shifting to R or D. If you don't do that, and shift immediately (with the RPMs close to 2k), I can see where you would have the torque converter wound up enough to create a jerk.

I don't feel a jerk at all. The G is garaged overnight and is not very cold in the morning.

Is the 'snow' button off? Just a thought.

yes its off.. well I let the car settle to just under 1K I think is what its resting at.. it revs only for a tiny little bit. then comes down quick to just under 1K.. but it will only stop being jerky after some driving.

mine is garaged, but i work night shifts.

when in the garage and cold starting if i shift into drive/reverse after about 10 seconds there is no jerk(unless its below 30 outside).

when at work and its outside, i cold start it and shift into drive after about 10 seconds, it jerks everyime(if its below 50 outside).

but thats only if i dont have the brake firmly pressed. I am used to it and i know its the car trying to warm up by keeping the revs up. most new cars have that programming to help it warm up, its mostly an emissions thing(heating up catalyst), but it also helps when sitting in park/neutral waiting for it to warm up.

either firmly apply the brake when first putting it into D/R. Or wait for the revs to drop after 15-30seconds and then shift it out of park.
