you need the same parts either way... you'd just put a blank panel or a storage pocket in the 2nd half of the DD opening

when people say "double din" they are referring to the JDM dash setup... in Japan you can get the G35 (V35 Skyline GT350) with this double din sized opening instead of the bose headunit that we have.

it is also the ONLY way to install an aftermarket deck in our cars b/c when you buy the Japan parts, the A/C controller comes separate (ours is integrated with the bose headunit, all 1 piece... so removing our bose also removes the A/C controls)
