Thumbs up Fs Custom Valentine 1 Concealed Display and Steering Wheel Mount

Hey guys, I have this extra V1 concealed display laying around and decided I wanted more moola in my PayPal for mods. You can check out my Custom setup thread with comparision pictures ... and pictures.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330100137031
Here it is on EBAY under my account. It plugs in from the back instead of the side, so you can HIDE THE WIRES!!

ALSO, I have a custom cut steering column piece that is rough painted and a PERFECT fit for this display. It was VERY labor intensive to create the perfect fit considering how small of a piece it is. You may want to repaint or spray it with a clearcoating, but it is not necessary. I will include the bottom piece incase you would like to repaint the entire section to color match. (it is matte black right now) It's an expensive piece to buy new and even more of a PITA to dremel. I will let it go for $50 shipped, but less IF you purchase the C.D. with it as well.

Here is a link to my thread on it's progress. I duplicated the setup to install in my buddy's G at school, but he decided against getting the V1.

NO DIBS unless you deposit the MOOLA before anyone else.
PayPal ONLY. filanj@aol.com is my PayPal address.

EDIT: CD STILL AVAILABLE. THE MOUNT IS SOLD. $30 shipped for CD

a response as per a few inquires...

I have an entire thread on the progression of this mod, but here is a quick explanation. The use of the concealed display is self explanatory, but mounting it some place that is always in view is hard to come by. I got the idea from the audi forums. Some people mount it in their ashtray, but that is really idiotic since you have to look down and away from the road completely just to see where it's coming from. They might as well not even use a C.D. when they do that because it would be easier to just look at the v1 main unit mounted on the windshield. At least that doesn't completely take your eyes off the road.

I decided to come up with some sort of steering column mount like in the audi's. It took me a while to come up with actually finding spare pieces because I didn't want to cut my pieces. These pieces of plastic are extremely expensive. They run about $70 shipped from our sponsors.

The piece I have for sale came from the willow interior and it wasn't much cheaper than the brand new one. It took me a good hour and a half of measuring and dremeling to create the perfect fitment. The C.D. sits down inside the cutout and angles up towards your eyes. The piece is spray painted a matte black. I have an extra lower piece that is an unpainted graphite piece. I came across a graphite piece on ebay that was cheaper than buying one new, so I was able to pick that up and that is my current set up. I would recommend painting the bottom graphite piece that will be included for a better match (if I can still find it... it's at my house somewhere...I'll dig it up this weekend when I get back from school)

The dremeling process was a LOT harder than I had imagined for the piece since the fitment had to be exact; otherwise, it would have been too loose or it would not have fit.

The concealed display I have for sale is a custom display. I hate wires (hence this entire setup) and I didn't want the wire coming out of the side of the display, so I modded it to come out of the back of the unit. The female receptor now comes out of the back of the unit for the power cord to plug into and quickly disappear into the steering column behind and below it. I scratched out the top three circular signals for Laser, Ka, and K band, so that they are brighter during the day and night since these are the most important bands.
