Are you looking for a sedan or coupe?

The OEM offsets are different, Coupe rims are generally 30mm offset where Sedan rims are usually 45mm offset. It just affects how much the wheel tucks in or out.

is it possible to use those things...er... 'spacers' to create more of this required offset so that the wheels are pushed outwards more?

Yes, however depending how thick a spacer you use, you could run into problems with the wheel studs. The bigger spacer you use, the less amount of turns you have on your lug nut because the length of the stud.

Just a thought.

Could you give specs on the rims/tires? I'm not sure if the '04 stock rims were 17" or 18". Also, mileage on the tires and current state of tread. I might be interested, too. Thanks!
