I've had mine for about two years and it didn't scratch...I always wore a leather glove though...As long as you don't wear a ring I'm sure it won't scratch...It also won't fade like other shift ***** because it is made out of titanium.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend wearing a ring when shifting any type of shift ****.
