im a noob when it comes to radar but is this the display only? Do i still need a v1 radar detector to work with this?

I thought V1s were like 2-300 or something like that.

yes the radar is the main brain and you still need it...this is if you dont want the display on the radar showing when mounted so everyone around can see it...you use this and it takes the display away from the actual radar and you can put this above your steering column where you are always looking etc..
