Satellite Radio Antenna Mounting...

So I installed the factory Sirius tuner a couple weeks back and when mounting the antenna I did what the directions called for...on the trunk lid. While I was able to live with it, it still bothered me that it simply just doesn't flow with the car well (nor does it anywhere else like the the roof). Not only that, where the antenna wire gets routed through the grommet connecting the trunk lid to the car, it was pinching and the pressure between the metal of the car and grommet caused the metal in the wire to be exposed. In effect I kept loosing signal for long periods of time (I think it was grounding out).

So I searched around the rear deck inside the car for a good mounting point and to my surprise found a great location! Check it out:

I removed the cover for this and my antenna bracket slid right on, very snug with no chance of shifting (I guess I lucked out with the shape of the bracket working so well). I get a great signal, the antenna wire can be routed a lot safer, and the location is very stealthy and clean. Just thought I'd give a heads up for anyone who may want to relocate their antenna, unless they already have a permanent mount on the roof...

I installed mine here. It's completely stealth and the signal is still good!
