How do I install subs/amps in coupe and make em harder to steal.
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody implemented this in their setups. I want to make it hard to steal stuff. A lot of the setups in here it looks like it would be easy to just pop the trunk and take some of this stuff. Is this the case? If so what are some things that I can do to make it harder to steel the equipment. Any info would be great. I'm getting ready to start doing my own install for the first time.

bolt it down to the floor pan using bolts and lock nuts (the kind with the plastic inserts). Using those will require a wrench on both ends one in the trunk and the other under the car. Another option would be to use phillips lag screws and drill out the head, you'll need an extractor to remove those.

Build your entire setup to fit the car, hiding all structual screws. My last setup got broken in to and all they could do was look at it all, and walk away.
This was a '94 Cavalier that had (3) 12" subs in it. I built 3 individual boxes and then actually bolted them together IN the trunk. The assembled box would not come out, it was too large. The box was also blocked by the amp rack, which was sitting under a piece of 1/4" plexi and a trim piece. The amps actually would have came out easy, but I don't think they had the time or wanted to risk making the noise necesarry to rip everything out, as they broke in to the car in my driveway in my neighborhood.
My first car that ever got broken in to had (4) 12" subs and two separate amps. The amps were mounted to the box, and the box was just sitting in the trunk. They popped my trunk, cut the wires, and pulled everything out and were gone. After that experiance I decided to integrate everything in to the car so it wouldn't be as easy the next time.
