Battery fails diagnostic test.

I have a question. I had a little battery trouble. It died a few times, I took it to Infiniti and they said that "the batter failed our diagnostic test" whatever.

Anyway, so I went out and bought a Optima batter and I plan on installing it myself. When I went to Infiniti I expected to need a jump to leave the lot, I was going to bring the car home and install the batter because I thought once I shut the car off... it would die.

I went to Infiniti, to my surprise, the car did not die nor did it lose charge. The battery seems to be working normally.

My car sits in the garage and is usually twice a month once nice days. It's a 2003 6MG.

Should I install the Optima battery or should I return it and keep the stock battery?

I have no idea what a diagnostic test is. I assume they hooked it up to some sort of machine?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

the on board diagnostic system called consult 2 has a diagnostic mode for the battery. im not sure what exactly is tested though.
if you're stock id say keep the factory battery. get it charged though and make sure its filled with distilled water as it should be.

if youre running amps/head unit/etc then id suggest you stay with the optima

My car is not stock but all of the mods are unrelated to the engine. I have brakes, sways, springs, enigne cover and some interiors stuff and new wheels. I'll check that out thanks!
