I have a 2005 G35 coupe with Navigation. The DVD map version is 6.3. I called and spoke to a representative at Zenrin.com today, the supplier of the DVDs, and they said that version 6.4 came out last October. Instead of ordering version 6.4 though they have suggested waiting until this coming October when version 6.5 will be released. They clarified that their DVDs are only for maps and routes.....they do not change the look and feel of the navigation system. Just thought I would share.

well how about this question. my dad has an 06 sedan and i have an 03 coupe but his navi dvd will not work in my navi dvd player. I kinda thought it would work but i guess not? huh?

 

You are seeing the firmware differnece. Won't work without a firmware upgrade, and I am betting your coupe would not support that firmware due to added functionality in the newer Navi.

 

I have a copy of 6.4 update cd and nav I purchased from a member, pm me if you want it.

Newest version for 2003 - 2005 models is v6.9 and comes with the map DVD and a software(firmware) update CD

Newest version for 2006-2007 coupes and 2006 sedans is v7.6 and comes with just the map DVD

These versions are for 2010-2011 (for future reference)

 

Does this update the visual of the whole system or does this only add new maps? i wouldnt mind spending the money if it updates the look of the whole interface...

The 06-07 V35s have the same look as the 07-09 V36s. Us 05' owners got hustled.
