Well I'm finally going to buy a Passport Escort 8500 x 50. I get pulled over so much with the G n get tickets i just need one of these. Well i found this guy on ebay who sells nothing but radar detectors and i was wondering if anyone on the forums bought one from this guy.

Anyone? I know theres gotta be someone who bought a Escort off ebay?

PS- Having a radar detector is it illegal? Like if a cop does pull u over n c that u have one would they say anything?

 

I've never bought from the guy, but he has a 2400+ feedback score at 99.6% positive, so that's pretty good. I think you'll get your factory-new Escort as promised but when I buy in a situation like this I always assume I may be out of luck when it comes to warranty issues.

Sure, the guy says... ...but who knows if he'll be around in six years, or even six months.

Having a radar detector is only illegal in Virginia and D.C., but if a cop pulls you over and sees you have one, you're probably less likely to get off with a warning.

 

I looked at his feedback, the two negs he had in the last month were from noobs to ebay. I don't think you'll have a problem. Just use the insurance.

 

Radar/laser detectors are legal in CA. Radar/laser jammers are illegal. I've been very pleased with the performance of the x50. That ebay seller has great feedback. You shouldn't have any concerns about purchasing from him/her.

i don't have an email from him, just a PM in my inbox on that forum. i didn't end up buying from him b/c vodkarocket hooked me up with his used one and i couldn't justify the extra $25 just to have a brand new one vs. a 2 month old one. i'd just join and PM him... i'm not getting any spam from that forum. he quoted me $270 shipped/insured to norcal.
