Thumbs up Just switched from XM to SIRIUS!

I've been with XM since 2002 and was only paying $10/month. They raised the price to $13/month and forced their loyal customers to switch to the higher price.

Now XM has started playing commercials on some of their music channels. I'm not paying $13/month to hear Oreck vacuum commercials.

Decided I've had enough with XM and their shady bait and switch practices and went over to SIRIUS.

SIRIUS is 100% commercial free. I bought a tuner with antenna for my Pioneer AVIC-D1 for $100.

I've always read on various forums that SIRIUS had better younger music programing. Now having used both, I can definitely say that SIRIUS is better.

I am very happy with Sirius, too.

my presets are: 1, 9, 15, 23, 40, 50 Unfortunately, I only have 6 presets but those channels allow me to go up or down to all the close channels.

Yup, there's so much more on SIRIUS. I cant remember the numbers, but I've preset about 10 stations.

For XM users wondering why you are hearing commercials on your music channels, I've found out why.

Clear Channel operates select music channels for XM radio (all the good ones). Apparently they sued XM and won the right to play commercials on those stations.

Satisfied with XM, the only commercials I hear are on 150 comedy, the other channels (8,9, 20-30, 40-54) no commercials.

I take offense to you calling me a retard. You don't have to listen to stern if you have Sirius.

Sure, Stern has his share of bimbos and strippers, but he also gets big name stars on his show that no one else can get.

I am also an XM convert and I think Sirius' programming is much better. I like that Sirius has live jockeys that talk every few songs and add some personality to the programming, rather than just playing songs from the computer, like XM.

just an honest opinion...people that listen to howard stern are not retards!!!!..howard stern is great....thats what most people think about his show..that all he has on are strippers and playmates....but who doesnt want to hear that in the first place if you're a guy???heheh.....i think the show is really funny. .....and thats one of the biggest reasons i got sirius!!! and there's nothing better to listen to in the am...and now he has all his previous tapes that can now be played uncensored!!! but again, you're entitled to your opinion so....have fun....

Does Sirius sound better than XM?

I've listened to XM in my friend's car and I can't believe how crappy it sounds. It's like listening to a badly encoded 64kbit bitrate mp3. I mean, FM radio sounds better than XM.

Both are heavily compressed due to limited bandwidth allowed by the FCC. Although, since XM now has 5.1, they may be compressing some channels more.
