Playstation Install Glove Box

Hey can anyone tell me if they have installed a slim ps2 in their glove box? I hooked mine up but in reviewing the area where the wires run for the power cable and video it obviously doesn't sit flush so I can close the glove box. I was thinking about sawing out a hole in the back but when I feel how much space is between the glove box and a big piece of plastic is very small. Can anyone post up any pictures or tell me how you got yours to fit? Having to disconnect the cables is a pain in the a$$ and it looks ghetto.

it can be done - i cant beleive i dont have pics of mine - but yes, you need to open a hole in the back of the glove. And not only the glove, but also the whole entire glove box. It wont close right fi you dont open a complete clearance for the cables.

I cant take pics of the hole, but if you like ill take a pic of where the cables are coming in from and the PS2 later today.

yeah man I would appreciate it. Do you see the hole where you cut out the glove box when you open it up? I take it you have to run the back of the cables parallel to the unit so it's not protruding out right?

you cant see the hole with the glove open when the PS2 is in - but since its always in you never see it. If you take out the PS2 you do see a big hole in the cornet though

Ok sweet, more than likely the ps2 will not be going anywhere. If you can post up those pics tonight would be great. I want to do this asap, since right now I have the cables running on the top of the glove box to get it working and it looks quite ghetto.

yeh you need a big hole
i made about a 2"x1" rectangle inorder to get the ps2 to close with the remotes still connected. you can not shut it with a memory card connected though. there is no way to go about cutting anything either to make it work, i have tried. the only thing that i can think of is to get a shorty memory card, but i cant seem to finda one that sells a shorter one then the standard sony memory cards.

if you do a search for my kenwood ddx 7015 install you can see the ps2 beginning hole i had to make it bigger to get it to shut though with the controllers still connected.

yeah I've got the wireless controllers already. I didn't want wires visible at all so I went and bought the wireless setup, but does yours close even with the controller receiver is connected after cutting out the back?

I was able to cut 2 holes in the left rear corner of the upper glove compartment (one .5" round one for the power and a 1.5" x .5" rectangular one for the a/v plug). I can fully close the glove compartment with 2 controllers and memory card(s) plugged in. BTW, I found a DC power adapter for the PS2 so I didn't have to use a power invertor.

sweet install guys! I'm hoping to achieve something similar in the lower glove box since my upper glove box houses my nav dvd-rom. I have to invest in a hack saw or something to do the cut out.

you were able to do it cause you used the upper glove box, which is a very good idea. i however couldnt use that cause i have a 6 disc changer in there.
