Subwoofer Fell off! WTF?

So... i was driving home from work and I noticed this red integra pull up next to me and start revving his engine.. his gf was in the car so he was trying to show off. Anyway, long story short, he got touched like children at Michael Jacksons birthday party... but then.. I realized that my subwoofers had stopped working. I just had them installed about 2 weeks ago. When i got home, i opened up my trunk, and there lay my left 10w6 subwoofer on its front, all the screws had popped off and were sticking to it..(magnet) the sub was still playing but very faintly and the right one wasnt doing anything.

My question is, why the hell would it do this? I wasnt even bumping my subs very loud. Could it be that since my box is a bit too small it made the sub just POP out at high volumes... (i have had it much louder before though and it had no problems)? Or maybe the installers didnt secure it correctly? ... Im taking it down there to where I got it installed tommorow morning.

Oh, and why does the right one not work... :0/

thanks for any help!

from a former installer, it sounds like the holes were stripped out and they thought it would hold, i assume your subs are rear facing? physics is killer, you took off fast with the integra, and since their wasnt any outside force or little holding your subs in place, they kept still while your car moved forward. Man, your car is fast

I would take it back and tell them to fix it.

I took it back to the installers, they used toooo short screws, so they re-screwed them in with longer screws.

That may not solve your problem since now half of the hole is already stripped, offering no clamping power. I would have them drill out the holes to accept t-nuts so you don't have this problem again.
