actually I already found that I could use pa11-nis adapter which will charge it and provide control ability through steering wheel, I just need to find quality holder and installation instructions

here is a diy for you
https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ht=06+headunit

I think you just unplug the sat radio connector and plug in the pac unit once you get to the back.... here is another post about mounting it and using s/w controls for the ipod:
https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-video-electronics/86108-installed-nano-w-proclip-w-pa11-nas.html

just so you know most things like that can be found with the forum search feature or in the DIY section.

...this is an install on an 03/04 with a different pac unit, it might give you some more ideas.

If your car is already SAT prewired, that wire terminates in the trunk where the SIRUS tuner would be install. The wire appears to provide both line input and power and is already connect to the back of the radio. I suspect (hoping to get better info from this forum) that you can attach the adapter back there and run your ipod wire from the rear of the car thru the carpet and into the center console thereby avoiding taking apart the dash.

not sure, but i think the connector on the other end of the sat prewire in the trunk is different and will not accept the PAC connection. I'm pretty sure it has to go right into the back of the head unit.

here is another 05/06 diy for the automatics:

Don't know if you figured it out, but the PAC goes on the back of the HU. However, you can not control the IPod itself through the steering wheel if you purchase the PAC-NIS. They have a bunch of products, which I think can confuse people. Which PAC where you purchasing?
