I have a new (06) G35X Sedan without the nav system. If I had the nav system does anyone know where the GPS antenna would be located. The car is equipped with Premimum Package 3.

I have the same equipped car as you. I believe the antenna would be bundled in with the master wiring harness that ONLY comes with a car equipped with GPS. A non-gps sedan has a complete different wiring harness. If you're angling to install OEM navi to your car w/out navi, its virtually impossible unless you replace the wiring harness. That is very expensive, VERY time comsuming and laborsome... speaking from experience. LOL. Your best bet is to get an aftermarket... if i read your post right.

If you do a forum search, you'll turn up hundreds of threads on the topic.

 

Thanks for the info. I am not trying toput the OEM system just a GPS receiver and I didn't want to drill any holes or route any more cables, but I guess I will have to.

The OEM antenna is just inside one of the niches on the dash looking up through the windshield; it really shouldn't take much routing to get it into a similar location for the aftermarket navi install. Try routing the wire around the bottom of the dash and up around the edge by the door to a niche on the dash.
