Replacing speakers in 2006 Sedan with non-bose system

Well, I've had my car for 7 days now and I've started doing some research on replacing the front speakers. I wanted to get some recommendations on speakers. I am not planning to add amps or anything. Just change the front 2 speakers using the factory HU as the car is a 24 month lease and I dont feel like doing much modding to it. I read up on making spacers and removing the panel. So if you guys could post up some brands with exact model numbers that would be great. Thanks.

ps ( the 2006 uses 4 ohm speakers as well? which means that the speaker and the tweeter are both 4 ohms each... right?)

Also... I have a 12 Alpine type R in a sealed enclosure with a 1200watt hifonics brutus amp that came off of my old car, 1 year old, with documentation... I am trying to get rid of it lolll, let me know if your interested.

i have an '06 Sedan Non-Bose, you prob. not going to go far w/o any amps.... i just got done putting in a 10W7, and im fixing to get soem Diamond HEX components... you could probably get away with leaving the rear speakers if you have good components in teh front.... any aftermarket components require an amp to get the most of what you paid for!!!!

I am gutting my system right now as some other people have as well. I have an 05 Sedan Premium and I am not satisfied. Before I moved, I went with just replacing the front speakers with 60.7cs and I added an amplified bazooka. I just blew my front kappa speaker so, I will be replacing the front speakers again. I was still not satisfied with my system so, I am replacing it with the following:

4080 box w/Alpine 12" type R
Eclipse xa1000
Eclipse 4 channel amp
infinity reference 6.5 (rear fill)
and some other front speakers.

I am a 31 year old father who enjoys his hearing so, I don't "crank it". Therefore, it shows you what the Blose amp will do to a good pair of speakers. I would recommend replacing your high amp with something clean and effecient and cross them over correctly to take out the low frequencies. Disconnect the blose sub and replace it with whatever your wallet can afford. I can attest to the quality of the 4080 subwoofer box.

I am pretty thrifty and I am doing all of this for about 650.00. I am installing it myself though. I'll try and post pics after this weekend when I complete the install.

Also does anyone know where the "pause" button is on the factory radio?

It should be fine, as long as the components are 6.5. I would suggest buying some spacers from zenclosures on ebay. The stock speakers have proprietary holes that do not match up with aftermarket speakers. The spacers allow for you to create depth for your speakers to be in so that they don't hit the door parts. Also, it allows for you to successfully mount the speakers. I just bought two pairs and they fit great for my 05'.
Alot of people on here use JL components, search and you will find alot of JL audio equipment emplacement info on this board.
