g35c navi and rev question!

I read some things about the navi on other threads, seems liek most people that got it love it.

Question, I heard there's a voice activate thing for it, so for example lets say I set a destination, if there's a street coming up that i need to make a turn on, does it tell me? like for example

I'm coming up to a street called union and i need to make a right, will it say something make a right at union in 2kms?

or is just a map that i need to look at myself?

and for the rev question, i never owned a stick car before, i've driven it a total of 3 times. I find it alot of thinking but fun at the same time. I want to get a 6 speed, but I know i'm not going to be very good, i can go change gears right now without really stalling but it's not smooth, i haven't mastered the hill or anything near that at all yet.

the rev meter, can i set it so it tells me when i need to change gears like at 4000 rpm? does it blink? or make a noise?

Yes, the navigation has voice guidance also.

Yes you can set up the rev light to blink 500 RPM before you want to shift gears, then when it hits your target it turns solid red.

Bro go for the 6 speed! Trust me! As for the navi it does talk to you but i think most people shut it off cuz it gets annoying...(turn left in 500 meters...turn left in 300 meters...turn left in 100 meters...turn left in...YOU PASSED IT YOU DUMBASS!!please make U-turn and go to hell)
as for the rev meter..my 98 saturn sl used to have a little arrow that lit up telling you when to shift gears, pretty cool. It takes practice just like anything in life. Just drive it long enough and you'll get to the point where you dont even think about it and you let your hands and feet do the driving .

Thanks for the replies, I want to go to stick, I just hope I don't regret it, I won't be able to afford to change cars for a good solid 5 years.

Hopefully you will be able to afford a new clutch if you are learning on this car

if you search and read the threads, a definite majority of people dont regret the stick, and some! of those who got the automatic regret it..... when my parents come through with a G for me, it's going to be stick, and ive driven one maybe 5 times before

btw, anybody know where there is a 'driving school' for people who already know how to drive but want to learn how to properly and efficiently drive a stick? or maybe somebody in the NC area willing to give a lesson? anything?

The best bet is to find a place that will rent you a manual car or truck. The G's clutch is not forgiving to people learning tend to damage it where as there are other car's and trucks that are much harder to damage. YOu could also just buy a beater to learn on and sell it afterward.
