Bypassing Nav

I know there are posts on bypassing nav but no one has replied to a lot of questions about the nav. My question is if we tap into the speed sensor wire which is the green/white wire how can we wire the speed sensor wire to the trunk switch in the glove box?

Re: Bypassing Nav

I figured it out. And yes I met when you type in your desired destination while you are driving. Its real simple. All you do is unscrew the glove box. Look behind the navigation dvd player and you will see a bundle of wires going into the back. Look for the green/white wire. Cut it. Now attach wire to both ends of the wire you just cut and wire it to the trunk safety button, if you wish. If you choose to use the trunk safety button just cut off the pink and blue wire, and attach the two new ends of the green/white wire to the blue and pink wire. And your done.

Re: Bypassing Nav

Ok lets do a step by step: I will post pics by tomorro night for you guys.
1. Remove the glove box. Do this by opening the glove box and then removing the 4 screws at the top of the glove box.
2. Once you pull the glove box down if you look under the dash a bit, look for a wire harness that goes into the back of the navigation. I have a 2003 auto coupe, so I only have one wire harness that goes into the back of the gps, but others state they have 3 wire harnesses going into back.
3. Next look for a green and white wire that is in that bundle of wires that goes into the back of the navigation. Thats the speed sensor wire.
4. Cut the wire in half.
5. Now you have two ends from the green/white wire. Now get some extra wire and attach the extra wire to both ends of the green/white wire that you now have.
6. Now either you can attach both the new ends to a switch if you like or you can attach them to the trunk safety switch in the glove box which is what i did.
7. The trunk safety switch has two wires running into it, a Pink and a blue wire. Cut both those wires but still leave enough attached to the button to attach the other ends of the green and white wire. Then just wire the new green/white wire ends to the pink and blue wire and you have your switch.
8. Take it for a test drive and test for burning smell.
9. If there isnt a burning smell you did the job right and can call it day.
