rattles

anyone have a problem with the rearview mirror rattling? Mine rattles like a bastard and i'm wondering what would help quiet it? Anyone have this problem and fix it? if so what'd you use?

I'm wondering if taking it apart and sounddeading the back side of the glass would work or maybe some expanding foam

There is a TSB for this. The dealership should perform the TSB. You can also search on these forums and find this being discussed and some other people's home-grown solutions to the problem (some people are not happy with the TSB's solution either).

I doubt the dealership will fix it considering it only happens when I crank up my sub

Mine does this too, even without the music going. And I too have resorted to giving my mirror an occasional squeeze.

My idea was to disassemble it and maybe squirt in a little silicone here and there. Will look at some other folks' suggestions first. My idea sounds too gooey.

Maybe you're sub isn't loud enough if you can still hear the mirror!

just an update...

I fixed my rattling problem. I took the mirror apart and stuffed it with some insulation and siliconed everything. Put it all back together and no more rattles

Taking the mirror apart wasn't to difficult. It's snapped together. Yout just have to take your time and go real slow as you pop it apart.
